...Almost to the day, I finally swing my leg over favorite bike and set out to complete the ride I planned back on Sept. 9th. Finally, I'm back on my mountain bike.A lot of things have been rolling through my mind since my crash. Having never experienced trauma beyond a good bruise, I was kinda nervous what would be left of me once I recovered. Would I feel like normal being back in the saddle or would I feel uncomfortable? Would I be skittish hitting the same trails I once used to be able bomb down? These thoughts poured through my brain for two months. I can very greatfully say that I feel good, I feel solid, and most of all, I feel motivated.
<------The scene of the crime
But I can say with utmost certainty is that after two months of minimal excersize I am waaaay out of shape. After todays ride it almost feels like I've lost almost all of my fitness I gained this past summer. Climbs I used to hammer feel like walls. Strength has fallen through the floor. What a kick in the pants.
But today is Nov. 7th. Iola is May 2nd. It may seem like a long ways a way, but I have to start somewhere. What better place to begin than on a 70 deg November day.

Well done Nate. I was wondering where you went after the race. Thanks for the encourgment. Your fitness will come back fast.
Great! Yeah, plenty of time to get back on the horse. Giddy up!
I know the feeling but it's a long offseason. Standing rocks was completely leaf covered as well made the rocks and roots interesting to navigate.
good to hear you're back in the saddle, buddy. 2010 is yours
